The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra has supported and complied with the ADA, the Americans with Disabilities Act. The orchestra’s mission is to present high-quality performance of orchestral music and educational outreach activities to the St. Cloud area, and believes everyone should have access to this music. The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra’s ADA policy was developed by the Board of Directors to address the accessibility of our concerts to those with disabilities.

Accessibility is available to people with disabilities in three ways:
    1) Selection of accessible concert hall sites
    2) Availability of large print programs
    3) Addressing special requests by disabled audience members to the best of our ability.

Accessibility: Admission, access, employment, events, services and all programs of the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra are open to ALL people. We will make and have made accommodations for individuals with disabilities to participate in all of our services, programs and activities. Our performance venues are accessible. Every venue we use in the course of a season is accessible by wheelchair, including access to the theatre, restrooms, access to the building and wheelchair parking is readily available. Guests who accompany wheelchair patrons are able to sit next to the patron. We also accommodate those with walkers and canes.  We do general seating; however, if a person with a walker or cane would rather be seated on an aisle, we do our best to accommodate that request. We also welcome service animals into our performances. The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra makes certain these elements are in place whenever we contract with a venue for a concert.

Large Print Programs: Our season programs employ large print for easy reading. We have added international symbols to our season program.

American Sign Language Interpretation:
For our fourth grade Classics for Kids concerts, the public school district provides American Sign Language Interpretation for us.

Children with Allergies:
We do a large number of events that involve children; therefore we make certain that the venues can accommodate children with allergies.

Staff Awareness:
The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra has a full-time staff of one—the Executive Director. The Executive Director works to remain current on ADA regulations and improve and refine the ADA plan for the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra.

The orchestra continues to value every audience member, and continues to strive to be aware of opportunities to provide for those with disabilities.
